The 2026-27 GSC Travel Grant can be used towards registration fees, airfare, lodging, food, ground transportation, or other necessities for conference attendance outside of Fort Collins from July 31, 2026 – June 30, 2027. The grant may not be used for alcohol, or anything not strictly related to academic/research-related travel.

Travel Grants are provided at two tiers:

During the academic year, the Conference Travel Grants will be provided at the following tiers: 

• Tier 1: 10 grants of $500 (per grant cycle) 
• Tier 2: 6 grants of $250 (per grant cycle) 

Evaluation Criteria: The following will be considered when evaluating applications:

1) conference dates (preference for conferences set to occur within four months of the application deadline)
2) reason for conference attendance (talks weighted above posters weighted above professional development, for example)
3) conference location (international versus local, for example)
4) potential impact of the conference on the applicant’s professional development, graduate work, department/program/cohort
5) applicants involvement at CSU and their community at large
6) applicant’s access to additional funding sources. There is no preference given for the type of degree or program of the applicant.

Deadlines for Travel Grants

*Please note, applicants must use granted funds by May 30 for all grants awarded in the academic year. Additionally, all travel must be completed before June 30th, 2027.
